Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge Hotel Mountain Brook was built upon Mohican (Mohhecconnuck) ancestral land.
As settlers on their indigenous homeland,  we have a duty to recognize the Mohican nation as the original stewards of Tannersville and beyond. It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower First Nation voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country. We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the Mohican peoples through donations to their Cultural and Historic Preservation Museum which supports the Stockbridge Munsee community, their present day descendants. To learn more about their "Many Trails" throughout history, please visit the Mohican website here or if you are guests of Hotel Mountain Brook, peruse our decolonized bookshelf.
