Kaaterskill Falls (check the website linked for more up to date information)

This is arguably one of the most popular hiking trails in the region and for good reason. The scenery is awe-inspiring- from the majestic waterfall plunging 260 feet to the mixed deciduous forest on both sides of the trail- it's a sight to behold. There are two viewing platforms, and we highly recommend going down the pathway beneath the bridge for a closer view of the falls. Hikers can also access an additional, harder trail towards the top of the falls, which offers a peaceful view of the surrounding mountains.

North Point (check the website linked for more up to date information)

This trail may be strenuous, but the view at the end is worth every step. The trail is about 7.5 miles long, and on the way to the summit, hikers will encounter a picturesque waterfall and a few sprawling blueberry fields. The top is a great place for a picnic lunch while taking in the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and towns. For an extended hike, connect to the Escarpment Trail which will loop you back to the start.

Huckleberry Point (check the website linked for more up to date information)

This hike is a moderate 2.5 mile (one way) trail that offers picturesque views of Tannersville below. Once at the endpoint, visitors can enjoy a picnic lunch while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding valley. It's a great spot to unwind, relax and escape from the fast pace of everyday life. As a bonus, the trailhead of this hike is easily accessible and also offers ample parking and beautiful scenery on the drive up.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge Hotel Mountain Brook was built upon Mohican (Mohhecconnuck) ancestral land.
As settlers on their indigenous homeland,  we have a duty to recognize the Mohican nation as the original stewards of Tannersville and beyond. It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower First Nation voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country. We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the Mohican peoples through donations to their Cultural and Historic Preservation Museum which supports the Stockbridge Munsee community, their present day descendants. To learn more about their "Many Trails" throughout history, please visit the Mohican website here or if you are guests of Hotel Mountain Brook, peruse our decolonized bookshelf.
