We put aside peace signs and picked up paint brushes! We moved on from our first {verdigreen} hotels property, Twin Gables of Woodstock, and settled in to the colorful village of Tannersville, NY.

Up the winding road and just thirty minutes north of our sister property, Hotel Mountain Brook is literally on a mountaintop! Tannersville is the highest elevation town in the state of New York. The drive up from Woodstock through Kaaterskill Wild Forest is a sight to behold with stops along the way for hiking access to the waterfalls.

Our property is nestled high in the Catskills Mountains next to Hunter Mountain, one of the last in the range before the Adirondacks. Only two miles from the Mountaintop Arboretum and neighboring the village, everything is within close reach of our property. From public parks, to well-known hiking trails, waterfalls, and outdoor recreational facilities like skiing on the famous Hunter Mountain, there's an abundance to choose from to stay active and entertained. For a comprehensive link to local activities and town updates, visit the Tannersville official website.

Bustling on the weekends and during season, the quaint village is home to a plethora of restaurants, a local apothecary, antique/vintage stores, and artfully curated specialty shops. There's plenty to do from relaxing with a coffee to getting your shop on.

We are ecstatic to be a part of this colorful, historic village and are honored to be welcomed into such a special place.

Follow along next week to see the next transformation at our hotel in Tannersville! Come visit us at Hotel Mountain Brook, our "Literary Lodge" in Upstate New York to experience the vibe yourself.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge Hotel Mountain Brook was built upon Mohican (Mohhecconnuck) ancestral land.
As settlers on their indigenous homeland,  we have a duty to recognize the Mohican nation as the original stewards of Tannersville and beyond. It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower First Nation voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country. We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the Mohican peoples through donations to their Cultural and Historic Preservation Museum which supports the Stockbridge Munsee community, their present day descendants. To learn more about their "Many Trails" throughout history, please visit the Mohican website here or if you are guests of Hotel Mountain Brook, peruse our decolonized bookshelf.
